MUSCATINE, Iowa – Republic Services, Inc., has announced changes to recycling collection due to the Thanksgiving holiday and expected weather conditions. Residents are also reminded of changes to the City of Muscatine refuse collection.
Recycling Collection:
- The “A” route recycling collection on Saturday, Nov. 29, will start one hour earlier.
- Please place your bin at the curb no earlier than 4 p.m. the day before collection and no later than 4 a.m. on the day of collection.
- Thursday, Nov. 27, recycling will not be collected due to the holiday. Thursday’s route will be picked up on Friday, Nov. 28, and Friday’s route will be picked up on Saturday, Nov. 29.
- Regular recycling service resumes Monday, Dec. 1.
Refuse Collection:
- Curbside refuse collection is suspended Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28.
- Friday’s refuse route will be collected Monday, Dec. 1, along with the regular Monday route.
- Please place your bin at the curb no earlier than 4 p.m. the day before collection and no later than 5 a.m. on the day of collection.
- Thursday’s refuse route was collected Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Yard Waste & Bulky Waste:
- Due to double refuse collection, yard waste and bulky waste collection are suspended from Wednesday, Nov. 26, through Monday, Dec. 1.

- Call the Muscatine Transfer Station at 563-263-9689.
- The Transfer Station will be closed Thursday, Nob. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28, but resumes normal hours on Saturday, Nov. 29. Leave a message, and staff will return your call as soon as possible.
