MUSCATINE, Iowa — The Muscatine City Council will convene for two meetings on Tuesday, Feb. 3. The council’s regular session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., followed by a budget session at approximately 6:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the City Council Chambers at Muscatine City Hall.
The budget session will include funding presentations from three outside agencies seeking support for Fiscal Year 2026–2027.
Requests include:
- Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry: $135,000 for tourism and marketing initiatives and $50,000 for economic development
- Muscatine Center for Social Action: $30,000 for Housing Navigation Services
- Senior Resources: $50,000 to sustain and expand essential services
The regular meeting will open with a proclamation designating February as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month in Muscatine.
Council members will also consider accepting a Tax Sale Certificate from Muscatine County and authorizing the pursuit of tax sale deeds for five properties: 1114 Nebraska; 1815 Schley; 2003 Breese; 1805 Bryan Avenue; and Parcel ID 0825154030. Upon transfer, the properties will be offered for sale.
Additional items on the agenda include:
- Setting a Feb. 17 public hearing on a proposed Sewer Revenue Loan and Disbursement Agreement for the Water Pollution Control Plant and Lift Station Electrical Asset Replacement Project
- Approval of an amended development agreement with Merge, LLC
- Approval of intent to provide assistance for the Kraft Heinz Improvement Project at the Muscatine facility
- Authorization of a purchase order to Feld Fire for a replacement ambulance

All City Council meetings are open to the public, providing residents an opportunity to observe and participate in local government decision-making.
