MUSCATINE, Iowa – Beginning Monday, August 18, 2025, Stewart Road (X61) will be closed to all through traffic between Fruitland Road and Pettibone Avenue to allow for a grading and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement replacement project.
Subcontractor DeLong Construction Inc. will first mobilize equipment and personnel to complete the grading work. Following grading, the prime contractor, Metro Pavers Inc., will begin paving operations.
Traffic will be detoured via Wiggins Avenue and Pettibone Avenue during the closure. Motorists and residents are encouraged to follow the posted detour routes and exercise caution while traveling in the area.
The road closure is expected to remain in place throughout the project duration, with completion anticipated by late fall 2025.
