MUSCATINE, Iowa – A section of Baker Street will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, August 18, to accommodate an underground utility project. The project was originally scheduled to begin August 11 but was postponed due to the weather and delays on other projects by the contractor Hometown Mechanical.
Baker Street will now be closed between Oregon Street and Nebraska Street for water and sewer utility work starting August 18. The closure is expected to last through Friday, August 22, weather permitting.
Detour: Drivers should use Earl Avenue or Benham Avenue as alternate routes between Oregon and Nebraska Streets.
