MUSCATINE, Iowa – Make a splash with the whole family at National Night Out 2025, hosted by the Muscatine Police Department on Tuesday, August 5, at the Muscatine Aquatic Center in Weed Park. From 6 to 9 p.m., enjoy an evening full of fun, food, and community connections—all for free.
“This event is about coming together as a community,” said Lieutenant Ryan Buss, event organizer. “It’s a chance to connect, have fun, and build stronger relationships between neighbors and local law enforcement.”
This year’s event in Muscatine promises to be a family-friendly evening filled with fun, food, and community connection. Residents will have the opportunity to meet Muscatine police officers, firefighters, and other first responders while enjoying free food, games, and entertainment.
Highlights of the evening include:
- Police and fire vehicle displays
- MedForce helicopter (if available)
- K9 demonstrations
- Free hot dogs and refreshments
- Kona Ice
- Bounce houses, games, and face painting
- Petting zoo
- Character photo ops
- Live music by Minder DJ Services
- It Takes A Village Animal Rescue
And don’t forget—pool admission is free for the evening! Cool off in the Aquatic Center, but remember: regular capacity limits and pool rules still apply.
National Night Out is a nationwide initiative designed to strengthen police-community partnerships and promote neighborhood camaraderie. It’s a chance to meet Muscatine’s first responders in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
“Most of us entered law enforcement because we care about the people we serve,” Lt. Buss added. “National Night Out gives us the opportunity to connect with residents in a fun, stress-free setting.”
Each year, the Muscatine Police Department selects a different neighborhood for the celebration—the 2023 event took place at Taylor Park, and last year’s event was held near Mulberry and East 5th streets. This rotating location approach supports the event’s core goal: making National Night Out accessible to all Muscatine residents and highlighting the diverse neighborhoods that make up our city.
“We find little things to change or to add that will make each year unique,” Lt. Buss said.
Parking will be available in the main parking lot of the Aquatic Center and along the right side of Park Drive. Food, games, and vendors will be located in the smaller parking lot.
No registration is needed. Just show up, bring the children, and enjoy the night.
Let’s celebrate community, connection, and a safer Muscatine—together.
