MUSCATINE, Iowa — The Muscatine Police Department is actively investigating an assault that occurred early Sunday morning, May 4, at a residence located at 1004 Iowa Avenue.
At approximately 5:45 a.m., a 911 caller reported being assaulted and indicated that one of the assailants had displayed a firearm during the incident. Officers responded to the scene and made contact with the victim outside the residence.
According to the victim, both suspects retreated into the home following the assault. Given the potential presence of a firearm, officers secured the area and took necessary safety precautions. The residence was held for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation and ensured there were no ongoing threats inside.
No arrests have been made at this time. However, the investigation is ongoing. Initial findings suggest that the assault was a targeted incident, and there is no continued threat to the public.
