MUSCATINE, Iowa – Through Optimae Life Services, Matt Schram volunteers his time every week, stopping by the Public Safety Building to sweep floors and share a smile with our crew. But recently, he did something extra special — he wrote a song just for us, with the help of a computer program!

After his stepfather shared the song with the Fire Department, we knew we had to return the favor. We surprised Matt by letting him gear up in some firefighter bunker gear and played his catchy tune in the apparatus bay. His excitement was contagious — the smile on his face said it all.
