MUSCATINE, Iowa – The small parking lot on the downriver end of Riverside Park (playground area) will be closed to traffic starting at 7 a.m. Thursday (July 25) for Almost Friday Fest® on the Muscatine riverfront. That is if the City reopens the park to public use as cleanup efforts continue.

This is the third event of the season for Almost Friday Fest® with free entertainment from 5-9 p.m. featuring Fair Warning on the stage. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the entertainment along with food vendors and a beer/wine tent.

With the flood waters receding, the Department of Public Works and the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Muscatine have been busy cleaning up Riverside Park, removing debris and mud left over from the flood. The City may reopen Riverside Park to the public Thursday morning, but that could be delayed depending on the cleanup effort and the weather.
