[ARCHIVED] Volunteers sought for riverfront flood cleanup day

071924 Flooding 102 - Receding Mississippi River

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The United Way of Muscatine is partnering with the City of Muscatine to host a one-day event to clean up the riverfront from the flood. Volunteers will meet at the Riverview Center (two-story red brick building at the Cedar Street entrance to Riverside Park) at 8 a.m. on August 6. Working alongside city employees, volunteers will be removing silt from various areas and clean up the landscape beds on the riverfront. The event will go until 3 p.m.

“We're looking forward to coming together as a community to restore our riverfront to the beautiful place we all enjoy,” Hilary Henke, Community Engagement Manager for the United Way of Muscatine, said.
