[ARCHIVED] Surplus Online Auction scheduled November 13-27

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The City of Muscatine and the Department of Public Works (DPW) will conduct an on-line public surplus auction November 13-27, 2023. The items for bid contain a variety of items that were recently declared surplus by the Muscatine City Council including two old council seats from City Hall.

All items are available to bid on through the auction web site www.publicsurplus.com starting November 13, 2023, and running through 3 p.m. on November 27, 2023. Potential bidders can go to that website, search for Iowa, and then City of Muscatine for the auction items. You must register to view items and to bid on items.

Current list of items (subject to change):

  • Chiller unit from the Housing Department (works)
  • 2008 Chevy Trailblazer from PD (drivable, high miles)
  • 2009 Chevy Colorado from PM (not drivable)
  • 2012 Chevy Tahoe (bad engine) From PD
  • Portable air compressor from WPCP (operational)
  • 1995 GMC pickup truck from WPCP (drivable, rough condition)
  • IBM typewriter from Transit (works)
  • 2009 F-350 1 ton dump truck from CD, WPCP (not drivable)
  • Heating air handler unit from WPCP (was working when removed)
  • 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck from PM (not drivable)
  • 2004 GMC pickup truck from WPCP (not drivable)
  • Large glass display case from City Hall
  • Small glass display case from City Hall
  • 2 old council seats from City Hall
  • Bandsaw from WPCP (cuts crooked)
  • Wooden display stand from the Library
  • Leather couch from the Library
  • Wooden podium from the Library
  • AV cart from the Library
  • Calculators/adding machines from the Library
  • Hanging file organizer from the Library
  • Large microfilm reader from the Library
  • Small microfilm reader from the Library
  • Sony camera from the Library
  • Ultrasonic cleaner from the Library
