MUSCATINE, Iowa - A beloved family tradition returns this holiday season as the Muscatine Art Center invites the community to ring in 2026 – just a little early — during the annual Noon Year’s Eve Celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31.
Thanks to generous sponsorship from Hy-Vee, this festive event is free and open to all ages.
Guests are encouraged to stop by for a morning packed with fun hands-on activities and a sing-along with Emerson Taylor, Musser Public Library children’s librarian. Families can create colorful party hats and noisemakers, enjoy tasty snacks, and share in the excitement of the countdown to noon.
At the stroke of noon, the highlight of the celebration takes center stage — a cheerful balloon drop that fills the room with color, joy, and the spirit of the season.
“Noon Year’s Eve is one of our most joyful community gatherings,” said Melanie Alexander, Director of the Muscatine Art Center. “It’s wonderful to watch families celebrate together, especially children who get to experience the excitement of a countdown and balloon drop without staying up until midnight. We’re grateful to Hy-Vee for helping make this free, fun, and accessible for everyone.”
Registration is not required. Families may join the celebration at any time between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
