[ARCHIVED] Temporary closure of boat launch area July 29 for cruise ship stop

071525 American Serenade 101

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The City of Muscatine will temporarily close the downriver boat launch and adjacent parking lot near the Iowa Avenue entrance to Riverside Park on Tuesday, July 29, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accommodate the arrival of the American Serenade, a river cruise ship operated by American Cruise Lines.

The American Serenade is scheduled to arrive in Muscatine around 10 p.m. on Monday, July 28. Passengers will disembark the next morning to explore the community between 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., with the ship set to depart at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

This stop is one of several planned visits by American Cruise Lines to Muscatine during the 2025 river cruise season.

While the downriver launch will be closed during the ship’s visit, the upriver boat launch will remain open to the public, ensuring continued access for boating and fishing enthusiasts.

Residents are encouraged to extend a warm welcome to the cruise guests and take pride in sharing Muscatine’s charm, attractions, and hospitality.
