MUSCATINE, Iowa – Visitors to Weed Park on Sunday, June 29, should expect limited parking in the upper loop of Park Drive as KraftHeinz hosts a company picnic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The picnic will take place in the grassy area inside the upper loop. To accommodate the event, parking near the playground on Park Drive — close to the intersection with Parkington Drive — will be reserved for picnic attendees, specifically those needing accessible parking.
To help ease congestion, Muscatine Community College is offering its parking lot for picnic guests, with a shuttle service running to and from the upper loop of Weed Park throughout the event.
All park visitors are reminded that parking along Park Drive is permitted on the right side only. The road is narrow, and one lane must remain clear for emergency vehicles and traffic flow. Vehicles parked on the left side of the road will be subject to ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense.
The Muscatine Aquatic Center will be open for regular hours (12–8 p.m.), weather permitting. Access to the lower loop, Weed Park lagoons, and the City of Muscatine trails will remain open to the public.
