MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Police Department is investigating a swatting incident that occurred Wednesday evening, June 11, 2025, at the Musser Public Library.
At approximately 5:56 p.m., library staff received a phone call from an unidentified individual claiming to be in the parking lot with an explosive device. Staff immediately notified authorities, and officers responded to the scene.
Police conducted a thorough search of the area and found no evidence to support the threat. Out of an abundance of caution, the library closed early for the evening.
The Muscatine Police Department is continuing its investigation and encourages anyone with information about the individual(s) responsible for this false report to come forward.
