Celebrating EMS Week: May 18–24, 2025
This event also coincides with National EMS Week, observed May 18–24 and now in its 51st year. Sponsored by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), EMS Week honors the dedicated professionals who serve their communities in times of crisis.
This year’s theme, “We Care. For Everyone.”, underscores the universal mission of EMS providers to deliver compassionate, life-saving care to all individuals, regardless of background or circumstance.
“Working in EMS is incredibly rewarding,” said Ted Hillard, Battalion Chief of Muscatine Fire. “It’s a chance to make a real difference in people’s lives. Sometimes, we even save lives. But it’s also emotionally demanding, which is why supporting the mental health and resilience of our EMTs and paramedics is just as important as the care they provide to others.”
