MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Compost Facility at the Muscatine Transfer Station will close for the season at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. The facility will be open, weather permitting, from 12-5 p.m. through Sunday (9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday).
All loads being brought to the Compost Facility must be secured. Yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, and plants grown in residential yards) should be placed in paper yard waste bags. Brush and branches (10 feet by 10 feet) can also be brought to the facility along with larger trees and logs (no tree stumps or roots, however).
Compost and wood mulch will be available to residents as is firewood but please check in at the Transfer Station office before loading up mulch or firewood.
