MUSCATINE, Iowa – As the calendar moves from summer into fall, one of the most entertaining and informative events will take place as the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the annual “Walk (or Ride) Through History” on Sunday, September 22.
The event will take place amidst the tombstones and monuments on the grounds of Muscatine’s Greenwood Cemetery, 1814 Lucas Street, is fun for all ages, and free to attend. Tours will begin at 1 p.m.
Make plans now to include this annual tradition on your list of fall festivities and learn a bit of Muscatine’s history. Tour guides will relay enticing stories about some of Greenwood Cemetery’s most interesting and influential residents. All tales will be historically accurate and sure to entertain you.
The “Walk (or Ride) Through History” will take place rain or shine, and will last for approximately one hour. Pre-registration is not required for walking tours.
MuscaBus will provide transportation to and from the event, with a stop at the Greenwood Cemetery entrance and exit. To register for a MuscaBus ride, please contact the MuscaBus office at least one day in advance by calling (563) 263-8152.
