MUSCATINE, Iowa – East 8th Street will be closed to traffic next week between Poplar and Spring streets for a sanitary sewer replacement at 813 East 8th Street. The closure will begin on Monday (July 29) with the street expected to be reopened by Friday (August 2), weather permitting. Broders Excavating will be doing the work for the property owner.
The work was originally scheduled for July 15-19 but was postponed due to the flood detour being implemented with the Mississippi River flooding.
Eastbound traffic on East 8th Street will be detoured onto Poplar Street, to East 7th Street, to Spring Street, and back to East 8th Street. The detour for westbound traffic will be the reverse (Spring Street, East 7th Street, Poplar Street).
