[ARCHIVED] Compost Facility opens early; DPW to pick up storm debris curbside

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The City of Muscatine opened up the Compost Facility at the Muscatine Transfer Station two hours early today (June 26) for local residents to bring and drop off yard waste. The Facility will be open until 6 p.m. today and will resume normal hours on Thursday from 12-6 p.m.

The Department of Public Works also has a crew out to collect storm related debris from the curbside. City officials stated that the debris should be brought curbside in manageable sections (cut into six-foot sections and bundled if possible). The resident will then need to call Public Works (563-263-8933) to be put on a waiting list for collection. Public Works will only pick up tree debris associated with Tuesday night’s storm.

For more information, contact the Transfer Station at 563-263-9689 or Public Works at 563-263-8933.
