MUSCATINE, Iowa – Muscatine Power & Water has informed the City of Muscatine that it will need to close the westbound lane of Washington Street from Park Avenue to Grand Avenue on Wednesday and Thursday (June 26-27) to investigate and repair a water main leak.
The lane closure will only affect the westbound lane. Eastbound traffic on Washington Street approaching Park Avenue will not be affected.
Traffic on Park Avenue will not be permitted to turn west onto Washington Street during the repair work. Westbound Washington Street traffic will be detoured south on Park Avenue to East 5th Street or north on Park Avenue to Clay Street.
Drivers are urged to pay attention to traffic control signage and find alternate routes if possible.
