MUSCATINE, Iowa – Curbside recycling collection in the many of the alleys on the Friday “B route in Muscatine were not completed by Republic Services this week due snow accumulation. Those who did not have their recycling collected will have their carts emptied on the next collection day (Feb. 2).

Republic Services has indicated that they are allowing customers who did not have their recycling collected Friday to place their overflow recycling material into plastic bags and set them next to the recycling bin for collection on Feb. 2.

Weather has played a factor in curbside recycling collection in January with the “A” week routes for (week of January 8) delayed one day due to the snowstorm that moved through Muscatine on Jan. 9. Curbside collection for the January 11 and January 12 “A” routes was cancelled due to the extreme cold and heavy snow.

Republic Services has indicated that the January 11 recycling will be collected on January 25 (the next “A” route collection day) and the January 12 recycling will be collected on January 26 (the next “A” route collection day. Republic has indicated that they are allowing customers on those two routes to place their overflow recycling material into plastic bags and set them next to the recycling bin for collection.

Residents with concerns with the delay in this service should call Republic Services customer service at 563-332-0050.
