New MPD Training Supports Safer, More Secure Rental Properties

Muscatine News Posted on January 21, 2026 | Last Updated on January 21, 2026

MUSCATINE, Iowa - The Muscatine Police Department is preparing to host a comprehensive training session on March 30, 2026, focused on the Iowa Crime Free Multi‑Housing Program. This initiative strengthens collaboration between law enforcement and rental housing professionals, giving property teams practical tools to reduce crime, improve resident safety, and enhance the overall quality of life within rental communities.

Developed as a proactive, community‑oriented approach to crime prevention, the program equips participants with strategies to identify risk factors, implement effective property‑management practices, and foster safer living environments. The training emphasizes the importance of strong partnerships—recognizing that when police and property personnel work together, they can more effectively deter illegal activity and support stable, thriving neighborhoods.

Attendance is strongly encouraged for property owners, managers, leasing staff, and maintenance personnel, as each plays a vital role in maintaining secure and well‑managed rental properties. Their participation helps ensure consistent safety standards and reinforces a unified approach to crime prevention across Muscatine’s rental housing community.

For additional details or questions about the training, community members may contact Detective N. Sink #276 at nsink@muscatineiowa.gov.
