Sports Center memberships do not replace free-use times

Muscatine News Posted on January 23, 2026

MUSCATINE, Iowa – There has been some confusion about whether memberships will replace the free-use hours at the Musco Sports Center. To be clear, free time will continue to be available to all patrons, regardless of whether they have a membership.

Free-use hours remain an important part of the Musco Sports Center facility plan and will continue Monday through Friday from 8–10 a.m. and 3–5 p.m.

The Parks and Recreation Department has also introduced two optional memberships — a Walking Membership and a Facility Membership — which allow patrons to use the center from 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and from 5–10 p.m., whenever no other activities are scheduled.

Memberships can be purchased at the Musco Sports Center, the Parks and Recreation office at Muscatine City Hall, or online at RecDesk.com. Additional details is available on the Musco Sports Center website, the Parks and Recreation website, online at RecDesk.com, or by calling 563-263-0241.

These memberships offer an affordable way for individuals to enjoy additional access to the new 122,000‑square‑foot, temperature‑controlled complex during non-free hours when the facility is not otherwise in use.

Below are the Memberships and what they include:

Walking Membership
