Communications Division

Welcome to the Communications Division of the City of Muscatine. Our mission is to effectively communicate accurate, timely, and relevant information to the residents, businesses, and visitors of Muscatine. We are dedicated to fostering transparent and engaging communication between the City government and our community. Our goal is to enhance quality of life for residents, as well as gather and share information to support and encourage two-way communication that promotes transparent government and an engaged citizenry.

What We Do:

  • Media Relations: We serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate press releases, interviews, and other media-related activities.
  • Social Media Management: We maintain and engage with the community on the City's official social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Content Creation: We develop creative content for the City's website, social media, newsletters, and other communication materials.
  • Community Outreach: We coordinate and support events and initiatives that promote community engagement and collaboration.
  • Crisis Communication: We provide timely and accurate information during emergencies and other critical situations.
