Maurice Sendak was an American artist and children’s author. He is best known for his book Where the Wild Things Are written in 1963. Today, the book is considered one of the top children’s books of all time. In the book, wild boy Max is sent to his room without supper. While there he imagines a far off place with creatures called Wild Things who he plays and dances with. Join Miss Julie on Saturday, June 12 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. to create a Wild Thing mask and take a romp through the Japanese Garden.
