[ARCHIVED] Stroll through the past during Greenwood Cemetery walk Sept. 23

Greenwood Cemetery Walk 2015

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Put on your walking shoes and pay a visit to Greenwood Cemetery on Sunday, Sept. 23, for the annual “Greenwood Cemetery Walk (or ride) Through History”. Tours start at 1 p.m. The cemetery is located at 1814 Lucas Street in Muscatine.

This fun, free event is sponsored annually by the City of Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department.

Include this annual tradition in your fall activities and learn about Muscatine’s history from the perspective of those who were a part of that history.

Walk through the past and listen to enticing stories about a few of Muscatine’s former residents … some that may sound familiar and some that contain recently unearthed information.

All tales are historically accurate and are sure to entertain.

The “Walk (or Ride) Through History” will last approximately 90 minutes and take place rain or shine. MuscaBus tours will be available for those who wish to ride, or in the case of inclement weather.

Contact the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at (563) 263-0241 for more information.
