[ARCHIVED] Flag football fun returns to Kent Stein Park this fall

2017 Flag Football

MUSCATINE, Iowa – A flag football league for boys and girls is being organized by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department. Competition will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, September 4 through October 11, at Kent Stein Park.


Two age divisions will be offered this year with third and fourth grade students competing at 6:30 p.m. while fifth and sixth grade students will play at 7:30 p.m.


Youth Flag Football has been designed to teach football skills and teamwork through organized practices, informal scrimmages, and formal games. Flag football will be played under the lights of Kent Stein Park with the guidance of coaches, field supervisors, and referees.


Participants in the Youth Flag Football league will receive a t-shirt, a mouthpiece, and entry into the Muskie Punt, Pass & Kick competition.


Registration is open now with a $25.00 fee for Muscatine residents and a $30.00 fee for non-residents. The registration deadline is Monday, August 20, so don’t hesitate to reserve your spot in-person, over the phone, or online at www.muscatineiowa.gov/registration.
