[ARCHIVED] Parks and Rec unveils interactive holiday lights map in Virtual Center

MUSCATINE, Iowa – If you are like most people during the holiday season you will, at some point or at various times during the season, jump in the family car and cruise through the Muscatine area looking at all the festive holiday lights on homes and businesses. And with what 2020 has been so far, it appears there is a great abundance of holiday magic being displayed throughout the community.

But not all can get out at night and see all the lights and displays.

So …..

The elves in the Muscatine Parks and Recreation office, who are working hard to spread holiday cheer to one and all, are requesting help from area residents to lift up Muscatine spirits and make the yuletide bright.

Knowing that there may be a need for a map to help guide that car tonight, or a way for those who cannot venture out to see the magic of the holidays, these creative elves are putting together an interactive Muscatine Holiday Lights Display map. This user friendly map has debuted on the Parks and Recreation Departments’ Virtual Recreation Resource Center page, and will be updated with more magical displays throughout the season.

Everyone now has the ability to tour Muscatine’s most magical light displays from their computer, laptop, tablet, and mobile device, or take this interactive map along for a ride on the streets of Muscatine or a walk on any of the neighborhood sidewalks to witness the wonder for themselves.

If you need something to do that will help secure your spot on Santa’s nice list, help the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department fill out this City map with pictures and addresses showing the best and brightest Muscatine has to offer. Pitch in and help spread the joy of the season by emailing the street address, a description, and a picture of the light or holiday display to the Muscatine Parks and Recreation office at

For more information please contact the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at (563) 263-0241.
