June 1, 2019, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ Muscatine Art Center Music Room
Come and celebrate National Prairie Day! Prairies are the heart of the North American continent. A wide area of central North America is comprised of flat grassland that runs from parts of Canada down to Texas. What once was 170 million acres of prairie, has been reduced to 1% of habitat in the last 150 years.
Celebrate one of the richest ecosystems on the face of the planet with members of Muscatine’s Pollinator Project. Join Hannah from the Muscatine Pollinator Project and learn how this group is working to create pollinator habitat throughout Muscatine. The Muscatine Pollinator Project grows and plants native wildflowers and grasses throughout the community while teaching others to do the same. Hannah will also discuss how homeowners can add native wildflowers to their gardens to create pollinator friendly gardens!
