MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Department of Public Works (DPW) of the City of Muscatine is putting together a list and checking it twice as they prepare to begin pot hole repair work in the next two weeks.
Muscatine residents can help the DPW create the list of pot hole repair projects by calling the DPW at 563-263-8933 with the location of a pot hole or they can visit the city web site (www.muscatineiowa.gov) and click on the “Let Us Know” link to inform DPW of a pot hole issue.
Public Works began working on pot holes during the winter months by using cold patch but that mixture is just a temporary fix. Using hot mix, which just became available, provides a more permanent fix to the problem. Larger pot holes may require full depth patching and that is another list that the DPW is compiling.
The City of Muscatine asks drivers to please be patient as DPW attends to the numerous pot holes this season, and reminds drivers to use caution when approaching or moving around workers.
