The Muscatine Police Department Citizen's Police Academy is designed to inform our citizens of the crucial role the police department serves in the community. The Academy is a community relations program and is not designed to train citizens to be police officers; rather it gives the citizens a realistic view of what police really do.
The Academy is a 10-week program to be held on a single night during the week. Classes are held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each night with 1 exception. There will be 1 Saturday class held at the police firing range. The Academy is held without cost to the students and simply requires an application to be filled out and turned into the department prior to the planned start date. The class size will be limited and a selection process, if needed, will be used to balance the class size.
To attend the Citizen’s Police Academy, the candidate must live or work in the City of Muscatine and be over the age of 18.
If you are interested in attending please fill out an application. You can print a copy from below or pick 1 up at the Muscatine Police Department Information Display in the lobby of the Public Safety Building.
